At present, the necessity and timing of a radical prostatectomy (RP) is debated in patients with clinically localized disease [1]. Observation through active surveillance or watchful waiting (WW) is an option for management that better preserves patients’ quality of life while it confers the potential risk of delaying treatment and missing the window of curability [2,3].
