Editorial Welcome home Scandinavia! Breathtaking best describes Acta Physiologica’s most recent developments. Only a few weeks ago, we have become an onlineonly journal, thus sparing natural resources and leaving a greener footprint. What is more, we remain a free-to-publish-in journal, which is more than a small contribution to our fellow scientists from economically less favoured regions. Mirrored by bibliometric measures, our journal is now among the very top of the established physiology journals. So little does it surprise that submissions are surging. Numbers of original articles are most representative when comparing submissions. In January, we received 80% more original articles than the year before. Similarly, submissions were up by 70% when comparing December’s numbers. What sticks out is

the increase in submissions from Scandinavia. They are fivefold! Thus, Scandinavian scientists consider Acta Physiologica as a prime choice for publishing their work. We wish to take this opportunity for thanking our authors and readers for making Acta Physiologica what it is today.

Conflict of interest None.
