ABSTRACT

A case of complete ureteral duplication with a branch ending blindly is presented. Previously, 14 such cases have been reported. blind-ending ureter arises as an abortive attempt at duplication. 3 Complete ureteral duplication occurs twice as often as incomplete duplication.• There have been reported 58 cases of incomplete duplication

In 1967 Schultze reviewed 13 cases of complete ureteral duplication in which 1 ureter ended blindly cranially. 1 Guhr and Trinckauf reported another case in 1967.2 No cases have been described in the English literature since 1960. 1 Herein we

Ureteral duplication is the result of the development of 2 ureteral buds or the splitting of a single ureteral bud. A Accepted for publication April 15, 1976.
