LETTER TO THE EDITOR Sir: Textbooks and articles on ultrasound physics continue to propagate an incorrect description of a beam produced by a circular disc transducer that apparently originated in Kinsler and Frey's textbook (I). I pointed out its faulty geometry and a more accurate representation published by Zemanek (2) in References 3 and 4. Yours truly, F. Kremkau Bowman Gray School of Medicine Wake Forest University Winston-Salem, NC
