Tetralogy of Fallot With Absent Pulmonary Valve: Imaging With Today’s Diagnostic Tools

A 6-year-old male child was referred with a diagnosis of congenital heart disease. Echocardiography and cardiac catheterization showed tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve. Computerized tomography, 3-dimensional tomography reconstruction, computerized tomography bronchography, and virtual bronchoscopy demonstrated aneurysms of the pulmonary trunk and the right and left pulmonary arteries,
with compression of the left main bronchus. The patient underwent uneventful surgical correction of the absent pulmonary valve syndrome with xenograft replacement of the pulmonary trunk and plication of the pulmonary artery branches. Postoperative control computerized tomography studies showed successful treatment and relief of the bronchial compression.
