T-cell recognition of influenza-infected cells T h e neutralizing antibodies generated in influenza infection are highly specific for the h a e m a g g l u t i n i n ( t I A ) of individual virus variants. In contrast most of the cytotoxic T cells (Tc) so generated do not discriminate between the different type-A influenza viruses. Although we have done a lot of work with spleen-cell populations in intranasally infected mice, I should like to document several points by data obtained with a cloned a n d recloned cytotoxic T-cell line (L4) which we have maintained in the presence of Tcell growth factors for over a year. This B A L B / c clone is H-2
