Rsa\ polymorphism of the human CD27 gene, a member of nerve growth factor receptor gene family E.Martfnez-Caceres, M.Juan, M.Romero, I.Rojo and J.Martorell* Servei Immunologia, Hospital Clinic, Villarroel, 170, 08036 Barcelona, Spain

Rsal Polymorphism: Rsal digestion identifies a two allele polymorphism with polymorphic bands at 4.6 or 4.1 kb as well as constant bands at 3.3 and 1.2 kb. Frequency: Estimated in 115 unrelated Caucasians. 4.6 kb allele (Al): 0.58 4.1.kb allele (A2): 0.42 Observed heterozygosity = 0.49. Not Polymorphic For: Taql, BglU, EcoRl, BamHl, Mspl, PvuH, Pstl and Xbal. Chromosomal Localization: The CD27 gene has been assigned to chromosome 12pl3 (2). Mendelian Inheritance: Mendelian inheritance was observed in two informative two generation families. Probe Availability: Probe was provided by Dr B.Seed (1). Request for probe to Dr. Jaume Martorell, Servei Immunologia, Hospital Clfnic i Provincial Barcelona, Villarroel 170, 08036 Barcelona, Spain. Source/Description: The CD27 cDNA was isolated from a plasmid library constructed from PHA-activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells (1). The probe used is a 1.2 kb Xbal fragment of this clone (EMBL/GenBank accession no. M63928).
