(Purdue University), Karl Hess (Western University of Health Sciences), Daniel Kennedy (Western New England University), Jennifer Mathews (St. John Fisher College), and Bernie Olin (Auburn University). Reappointments to the Board were Zubin Austin (University of Toronto), Sudip Das (Butler University), Gary Delander (Oregon State University), JoLaine Draugalis (The University of Oklahoma), Patrick Hardigan (Nova Southeastern University), and Therese Poirier (Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville), all for three-year terms. In 2015, a new subcategory, Viewpoint – Point/ Counterpoint, was added to the existing article categories. To date, topics covered in this written debate format have included “Should a Pharmacy Dean be a Pharmacist?” (Vol.79, Issue 3), preprofessional pharmacy requirements (Vol.79, Issue 8), and a debate on what constitutes a good advanced pharmacy practice experience (Vol. 80, Issue 3). At the AACP Annual Meeting, held last July in National Harbor, Maryland, the editorial team held the first annual Joseph T. DiPiro Excellence in Publishing Workshop. The workshop provided authors with an overview of the essentials of excellence when submitting manuscripts to AJPE. The workshop also included breakout sessions, during which authors were able to discuss specific issues with the editorial team. Nearly 40 AACP members attended the workshop. Each year, the best paper published in the Journal is recognized with the Rufus A. Lyman Award. The winner is selected based on utility and significance to pharmacy education, originality, research methodology, and writing style. The Lyman Award Committee, which is appointed by the AACP president and chaired by the Journal editor, selects the top paper. Thirteen papers from Volume 79 were nominated for the Lyman Award, and the winning article was “Towards an Operational Definition of Clinical Competency in Pharmacy,” by L. Douglas Ried, PhD, of the University of Texas at Tyler, and Charles A. Douglas, PhD, MBA, of Texas A&M Health Science Center. The Editor is indebted to the Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members, manuscript reviewers, and the AACP Board of Directors and staff for their continued efforts and support. The success of the Journal is dependent on the diligent and dedicated efforts of these individuals.
