Right nephrectomy showed a 700 g multilobular cystic mass. The individual cysts were 1 mm to 3 cm in size and filled with serous fluid. The cysts were noncommunicating and lined by cuboidal/flat epithelium. The stroma between cysts contained tubular structures and variable amounts of striated muscle. These features were consistent with multicystic nephroma. Cystic nephroma is an uncommon renal tumor first described in 1892.1 The cysts vary in size and the septa vary in cellularity. It is thought to be the benign end of a spectrum that includes partially differentiated Wilms tumor.2 Males predominate in cases diagnosed under the age of 5, whereas in females it is more frequent in adulthood.3 It usually presents as an asymptomatic mass, but flank pain and

hematuria may occur. Prognosis after resection shows no recurrence. REFERENCES 1. Agrani P, Beckwith JB. Renal neoplasm of childhood. In: Mills SE, ed.
