RCVS Council election results 2014 DESPITE a record number of candidates standing in this year’s elections to the RCVS Council, the number of veterinary surgeons casting their votes fell in comparison with the 2013 elections. The RCVS reports that, this year, 4137 veterinary surgeons – 16.1 per cent of those on the RCVS Register – voted in the elections, compared with 4661 (18.8 per cent) last year. However, the College says that, despite the decrease, voter numbers were still the third highest in the past 10 years. The 10-year average is 3927 veterinary surgeons voting in the annual elections.
