Programme to take an in-depth look at veterinary profession THE BVA is teaming up with ITN Productions to produce a news and current affairs-style programme about the veterinary profession, focusing on the trends and innovations that will shape its future. The BVA says that the programme, ‘Veterinary vision’, will be an in-depth, news-style production, specifically aimed at the veterinary sector. It will look at the challenges and opportunities facing the profession now and in the future with regard to the health and welfare of animals and the health and wellbeing of veterinary surgeons. It will be made available online and combine key industry and sector interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles of

some of the leading organisations in the veterinary sector. The programme, which will be premiered at BVA Members’ Day on September 24 this year, will also be screened at the BVA Congress at the London Vet Show on November 19 and 20. It will form part of an extensive online communications campaign, which will include BVA members, journalists, writers and bloggers. John Blackwell, the BVA President, said that the programme complemented the joint BVA-RCVS initiative, ‘Vet Futures’, which is exploring how the profession can best shape its own future. ‘This partnership is an opportunity to promote the fantastic work of the veterinary profession and generate

some debate about the big challenges and opportunities that the profession is facing,’ he said. Simon Shelley, the UK director of programming at ITN Productions, said that the company was excited about embarking on the project: ‘ITN Productions are delighted to be partnering with the British Veterinary Association examining the major themes affecting the sector and interviewing the industry’s key players.’ Anyone interested in learning more about, or in taking part, the programme can e-mail ITN Productions’ industry news team at [email protected] doi: 10.1136/vr.h1418
