Editor, lthough frequent and dramatic at the beginning of the last century, syphilis had practically disappeared with the advent of penicillin in the 1940s; however, at the end of the 1990s, syphilis re-emerged sharply (Parc et al. 2007). Ocular involvement is falsely believed to be rare, and ophthalmologists are still under-equipped with knowledge of the condition despite the fact that the resurgence in syphilis has also been registered in ophthalmology departments. The subjects are patients presenting the following serological criteria, diagnosed between 2003 and 2012 in our hospital: VDRL>1 and TPHA>80, with upper cut-off limit TPHA
