Summary. - - Pancreatic lipasc, colipase and 1-glyeeryl octyl ether or lysolecithin mieel,les were shown to form a ternary complex probably resulting from the fix~ation of the enzyme to the binary cc~lipase-micelle association already well documented in the case of bile sal~ micelles. Kilretic assays show ttmt the cvlipase favours the l.il~ase activity on tributyrin emulsio.ns in presence of 1-~lyceryl octyl, etker. The UV spectlmm of a deriwative of lipase in which two 2,&ydroxy 5-nitrobe~zyl. groups are attached to tryptophau, is distinctly modifiect by addition of 1-g,lyceryl oetyl ether micelles in the presence of colipase.
