cDNA representing the 3' end of the genomic RNA of a Danish isolate of Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus (BYMV, a potyvirus) has been cloned and sequenced. The location of the coat protein gene was determined by comparison with the coat protein gene of an American BYMV isolate (1). The coding regions are 94% identical in deduced amino acid sequences (fig. 1) and 96% identical in nucleotide sequences. The 3' non-translated regions are 92.5% identical in nucleotide sequences.
