New name, new look for industry body THE International Federation for Animal Health (IFAH), which represents manufacturers of veterinary medicines, has changed its name. It will now be known as ‘HealthforAnimals’. The organisation says that its new name better reflects what it represents and aims for, and strengthens its vision to communicate the important contribution the animal health sector brings to society. It says that development of the new identity was a collaborative effort and followed careful consideration and research among its members, stakeholders and the general public. The new name is accompanied by a new logo and the organisation’s website will be redesigned in the coming months. Carel du Marchie Sarvaas, executive director of HealthforAnimals, commented: ‘Our vision is to help create a healthier world through an innovative, responsible
and sustainable animal health sector. We felt that a new identity was required to better reflect this and our desire to become a universal reference point on the benefits of animal health products for animal health and welfare, food safety and security, and public health. ‘After careful thought, we agreed that HealthforAnimals, underpinned as the “global animal medicines association”, is an identity that can be identifiable to all, from our industry partners to governments and consumers.
