Editorial New Editorial Board Members in Pediatrics and Health Services Research he northeast region of the United States has finally thawed, and the crocuses are heralding spring. Spring for me always involves planting a large vegetable and flower garden, pruning fruit trees, and getting ready for the next crop. Although I am in the last year of my last term as PTJ’s editor in chief, I want to celebrate spring by announcing my final round of new Editorial Board members. I am grateful for the incredible work of those who will be leaving later this year, and I am excited about the contributions of the new members of our team.

First, a thank you to Janet Freburger, PT, PhD, who joined PTJ to help Linda Resnik manage the health services research papers that are growing in numbers and relevance for our profession. We began the Health Policy in Perspective feature in 2009 to draw attention to this important field of research and have been delighted by our scientists’ response. Janet and Linda also have been working diligently to produce a special series on health services research, which will be published in 2015/2016. The response to their call for manuscripts has been astounding, and we are especially pleased that this special series will follow on the heels of the February 2015 announcement by the Foundation for Physical Therapy that Linda will be the principal investigator for a $2.5 million grant to fund the first Center of Excellence in Physical Therapy Health Services Research and Training. Thank you, Janet, for ensuring the necessary rigor for the myriad important manuscripts that you have shepherded through the review process. When I became editor in chief, I was disappointed in the number of manuscripts submitted with a pediatrics focus. Thanks to the pediatrics special issue in 2010 on variability in childhood development, and thanks to the Editorial Board’s outreach to clinical scientists, the number of pediatrics submissions has burgeoned. A thank you to Sally Westcott McCoy, PT, PhD, FAPTA, for all of her work on behalf of PTJ. Her workload has been excessive, but she has still managed to provide timely and thoughtful decisions. Janet and Sally have been so busy handling manuscripts that we have brought on 3 new members to our team: Mary Gannotti received her degree in physical therapy and a doctorate in anthropology from the University of Connecticut and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine. She currently is a professor at the University of Hartford. She has more than 25 peer reviewed publications and numerous presentations. Her work has at least 2 themes: the sociocultural influences on disability experiences of children, and the outcomes of individuals with chronic childhood conditions.
