[13] reported a defective chemotactic response of these cells in a patient with chror,ic candidiasis, and Douglas et al. [5] have described monocyte receptors for immunologlobulins and complement. An easy method of isolating viable monocytes would greatly help the in vivo and in vitro study of their behaviour. This method was developed to study the relationship of monocytes to peritoneal regeneration and fibrosis in relation to prosthetic materials
