Message From the President of ECTSS Evelio Rodriguez, MD
Dear Colleagues, t has been an honor to serve as your Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgical Society President for the past year. This Innovation issue contains the abstracts presented during our 52nd Annual Meeting at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, this past October 2014. It is thrilling to see this, our first contribution from our members to Innovations, and I hope the beginning of a long-lasting relationship with the journal, which will result in the publication of many manuscripts based on the work presented during our annual meetings. I want to also thank and congratulate our program chairs, Drs Eric Lehr, Abbas Abbas, and Faiz Bhora, for an outstanding program. Last year’s meeting was extremely successful with over 175 participants from 20 different states resulting in 25 podium and 21 poster presentations. In addition, we had a terrific faculty group covering timely thoracic and cardiac surgery topics. We had 28 different industry partners, some of them supporting our first hands-on symposium. For the first time, we also had a very well-received surgical movie session. Overall, it was an outstanding and collegial meeting. We will be back at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, for our 53nd Annual Meeting on October 14 to 17, 2015. We encourage all of our members and readers to attend this year’s meeting, and we look forward to seeing you in Florida.
