to hear, been recently received by the Bengal Branch of the Countess of Dufferin Fund, for the new Hospital for Women in Calcutta. The Maharaja of Bettiah has given Its. 5,000, the Amban Rs. 500, Raja Peary Mohun Rs. 500, and Sah Kripa Dal, of Lucknow, Rs. 200. Mukerji Nawab Syed Ata Hussein, of Khagra, has also given a donation of Rs. 500, in. commemoration of the visiu of Prince Albert

Opening op a New Hospital.? Lord Reay on the 8th April formally opened the Bomanjee Eduljee Allbless Obstetric Hospital. His Lordship referred at length to the importance of medical relief for women in India, stating that he hoped that it would never be forgotten that it was Dr. Kittredge who first called the attention of the public to the matter. After this ceremony his Lordship received a farewell address from the members of the Bombay Medical Union.
