EDITORIAL Letter from the Chair Dear Fellows of the College: We continue to make great strides in the educational and public policy efforts of the College. In July, we held the second wound care course in Bogota, Colombia, and continued to establish the College of Certified Wound Care Specialists as a premier educational venue in Latin America. In August, we held our first Caribbean Encounter on Wound Care in Ponce, Puerto Rico. We had more than 175 attendees and excellent reviews of the course. As a result of this endeavor, we have been invited to give the wound care course in Santo Domingo in November 2011. In October, we will be highlighting our first wound care conference in conjunction with Kindred Hospital, to be held in Dayton, Ohio, on October 7. We will have outstanding faculty from all over the United States lecturing at the conference. On our public policy side, we have joined the Alliance of Wound Care Stakeholders and attended the meeting at

the 26th annual Symposium for the Advancement of Wound Care. We are actively involved in a number of arenas, including wound care quality measures and competitive bidding. Many of these issues will affect payment measures for wound care. As we become a stronger voice in the political arm of our organization, we will be relying on our membership to provide input on these critical reimbursement issues. In addition, in order to expand and enrich our membership base, we have changed our articles of incorporation to allow those with other credible credentials to join the college as fellows. Finally, we continue to promote the Journal of Certified Wound Care Specialists. In an effort to produce the highestquality journal, we continue to seek submissions from our members.
