Neurourology and Urodynamics 34:299 (2015)

EDITORIAL

Dear Colleagues, It is a great pleasure to introduce to you the fourth edition of this year. I hope by the time you get this, you will have been to the meeting of the Society for Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this edition, I am delighted to include a Cochrane systematic review on the subject of pelvic floor muscle training for women with urinary incontinence versus no treatment, placebo/sham treatment, or other inactive control treatments. This subject has been emphasized, but the evidence base has often been the subject of some discussion at meetings. It is clear from this article that pelvic floor muscle training is better than no treatment, placebo, drugs, or inactive control treatment for women with stress urinary incontinence or urinary incontinence of all types. There is no evidence for women with urgency urinary incontinence or mixed urinary

incontinence alone. I can certainly recommend reading this short form report from the Cochrane group and must congratulate them on such an interesting, informative, and succinct article. As usual the journal also contains a number of informative and interesting articles relating to clinical and basic science, and it is good to see so many comments back from readers from the journal. As ever, please keep your comments coming in and don’t hesitate to contact us via [email protected] with any comments, suggestions and of course, criticisms. With best wishes and kind regards,

Christopher Chapple Editor in Chief
