generous advice, encouragement, and capacity to nurture was limitless. He was second to none in his loyalty to colleagues and friends. John Laragh was a remarkable man whose numerous contributions exceeded what typically can be achieved during a lifetime. Throughout a professional career of more than six decades, John was a world leader in the field of hypertension. His scientific contributions had a major impact on both science and patient care. He was also a gifted educator and caring mentor.
