Introduction to the Asian Society of Cardiology
The Asian Society of Cardiology (ASC) is an international non-governmental organization academic society which covers the Great Asian region, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia and Russia. Members range from individual physicians, group organizations or industries. The current president is Prof. Yong Huo from China. The ASC aspires to become a leading cardiac academic organization in Asia. ASC dedicates itself to the improvement of the research, clinical and prevention measures on both an academic and public level in the Asian cardiology field. ASC enhances its connections between associations through hosting the Annual Scientific Sessions of the Asian Society of Cardiology (ASSA), to raise clinical treatment level through continuing education programme, to improve research capabilities through academic cooperation, to bridge Asian cardiologists and global peers and promote public knowledge of cardiovascular diseases through disease propaganda. ASC was established to create a brand new, sustainable tomorrow for ASIA.
