Herpes Zoster

A. 62-year-oId Caucasian female was admitted to hospital for intensive detmatologieal eare of a severe herpes zoster. Clinically, a large area covering her left upper chest, shoulder and upper baek showed numero u s crusts and erosions (Figs. 1-3), Topical treatment with Burow's wet dressings plus silver sulfadiazine (Silvadene®) cream t.i.d. resulted in rapid healing, already apparent after one week (Figs. 4-6). Histopathologieally, the erosions revealed complete destruction of the epidermis which had been replaeed by a superficial crust. A-ddress: Robert P. Myers and Leopoldo F.
