Thomas Zgonis, DPM, FACFAS Consulting Editor

This edition of Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery focuses on the pathomechanics and conservative and surgical management of hallux abducto valgus deformities. A variety of topics are well covered, including indications and contraindications of hallux abducto valgus surgical correction at the first metatarsal head, shaft, or base. Equal attention is emphasized at the first metatarsocuneiform arthrodesis procedures for the correction of hallux abducto valgus deformities and proximal phalangeal osteotomies and realignment at the first metatarsophalangeal joint. Last, complications and revisional hallux abducto valgus surgical procedures are discussed in detail. In this issue, the guest editor, Dr Baravarian, and the invited authors have done an outstanding job in addressing some of the most common procedures used in the surgical correction of the symptomatic hallux abducto valgus deformity. I would like to thank all of the authors and readers for their great contributions and input for Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
