Diagnosis The patient consulted to achieve a harmonious smile. The orthodontic appliance had to be invisible. Skeletal Class I in a normodivergent pattern. Left and right Angle canine Class III, missing 14 and 24. Anterior crossbite from 33 to 43; 2 mm deviation to the right of the upper midline relative to the facial midline. Overjet: 1.5 mm; supraclusion: +0.5 mm. (figs. 1–3; Table I)
Diagnostic pour avoir un sourire harmonieux. Le patient est motive ^tre invisible. L’appareil orthodontique doit e ma normodivergent. Classe I squelettique sur un sche Classe III d’angle canine droite et gauche, 14 et 24 absentes. ante rieur inverse de 33 a` 43 ; de viation du milieu Articule rieur de 2 mm a` droite par rapport a` la ligne me diane. supe Overjet : 1,5 mm ; overbite : +0,5 mm. Treatment Choice of possible extractions, explanations: – 35 and 45 were to be extracted in order to correct the anterior crossbite and restore functional occlusion. Treatment strategy: – Class III mechanics were used following the extractions. Bite turbos were positioned to enable the anterior bite jump. Treatment plan: – bonding of both arches with lingual brackets (incognito); – extraction of 35 and 45 prescribed; – alignment and leveling; – closure of extraction spaces and correction of the anterior crossbite using Class III mechanics; – detailing and retention. Type of appliance: – lingual fixed appliance using the CADCAM method. Duration of treatment: – 18 months’ active treatment.

Traitement ventuelles, explications : Choix d’extractions e inverse – 35 et 45 seront extraites afin de corriger l’articule rieur et de retrouver une occlusion fonctionnelle. ante gie de traitement : Strate canique de Classe III sera mise en place apre s les – une me le vations permettront la extractions ; des cales de sure alisation du saut d’articule ante rieur. re Plan de traitement : – collage des deux arcades avec des attaches linguales (incognito) ; – ordonnance d’extractions de 35 et 45 ; – alignement et nivellement ; – fermeture des espaces d’extractions et correction de inverse ante rieur avec une me canique de Classe III ; l’articule – finitions et contention. Type d’appareillage : thode CFAO. – appareil fixe lingual, me e de traitement : Dure – 18 mois en traitement actif.

Retention Upper and lower fixed canine-to-canine retainers using bonded wires. Retention begun 17/07/2009, planned for life. The patient lives in England. He had a pretreatment radiographic check-up as well as dental panorex and lateral headfilm just prior to band removal. According to UK law governing X-rays, no additional radiography could be performed following band removal. (figs. 4–8)
