A 46-year-old woman had been suffering for one year with continuous and pulsatile facial pain more pronounced in the left side and radiating to the periauricular region and neck. She had been treated with myorelaxant and carbamazepine without any response. Clinical examination excluded odontogenic pain and temporo-mandibular dysfunction. A panoramic radiography showed an elongated styloid process. The 3D computed tomography revealed bilateral elongation of the right (40 mm) and left (32 mm) styloid process. It showed a partial and total calcification in the right and left stylohyoid ligaments, respectively (Fig. 1). These clinical and radiographic data confirmed the diagnosis of Eagle syndrome. The patient was treated by chirurgical resection of the styloid process. Eagle’s syndrome, defined by Watt Weems Eagle, is related to an abnormal length of the styloid process or to the mineralization

of the stylohyoid ligament complex [1]. The possibility of an Eagle syndrome should be considered in the differential diagnosis of orofacial pain [2].
