Robert B Kalina (left), Publisher of the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, presents the Dr ABR Thomson – Dr CN Williams Award to Dr Kelly Burak, who accepted the award on behalf of the authors of “Burden of disease and cost of chronic hepatitis C infection in Canada” (RP Myers, M Krajden, M Bilodeau, K Kaita, P Marotta, K Peltekian, A Ramji, C Estes, H Razavi, M Sherman. This award was initiated in 2002 by Pulsus Group in honour of Drs Alan Thomson and Noel Williams, the founding Co-Editors-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology, who served from 1987 to 2000. It is given annually to individuals who made a significant contribution to the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, as demonstrated by the impact of original research published in the Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and judged by the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors.

A multivariate analysis using the RUGBE database” (Y-I Chen, J Wyse, A Barkun, M Bardou, IM Gralnek, M Martel. Can J Gastroenterol Hepatol 2014;28[4]:301-304).
