Editorial Child Psychiatry-Whither Goest Thou?
With this issue is born not only a new journal, but a basic conviction that child psychiatry has come of age. No less spectacular have been the significant contributions in the field of child development. Without question, the research efforts in the field of child development serve as the basic science of any effort to deal with the emotionally disturbed child. This is a time in our society of historic change, and I have every reason to believe that the next decade will reflect profound changes in the field of child psychiatry. It will be the purpose of this journal and its Editorial Board to reflect these changes and to provide a forum for child psychiatry. The journal began as an idea. The support of the Editorial Board and the publisher, Behavioral Publications, has brought about the reality. I am deeply grateful to them all.
