The history was as follows : Whilst out shooting five days ago in going through the thick jungle he felt some thing suddenly hit his eye. Beyond the eye watering lie felt no more discomfort, and took no notice of it. However, two days after his eye inflamed, lie had pain, lachrymation and photophobia. On admission he was found to have eye.

eye chemosis of the bulbar conjunctiva was so great that the glassy cornea was almost wholly obscured. This being the condition of the eye the usual incision was made into the most prominent part of the swollen conjunctiva. With the first rush of blood and serum out came an entire seed of the jequiiity beam (Abius Precatorius), this sufficiently accounting for all the symptoms. The seed must have gained entrance at the time that the man felt something go into his eye. It had made its way in some manner under the conjunctiva, but owing to its smoothness had not made itself felt in the first instance. After its removal the eye got well in three days,
