Two or three sweeps of the knife down the right of the tumour exposed the right testicle, which was dissected up. The same was done on the left side, after having opened into a hydrocele ; all the remaining attachments were then divided near the perineal fasaia. Thirteen ligatures were required. The testicles being found diseased, were removed. There was astonishingly little bleeding throughout. The man, however, became
