Body contouring is a wonderfully diverse and complex discipline that has incredible impact on the lives of our patients. Changes due to aging, pregnancy, and weight loss are corrected through thoughtful planning and execution of procedures designed to address each patient’s unique deformities and anatomic considerations. The rise of bariatric surgery has, in particular, led to an entirely new population of body-contouring patients with deformities spanning all regions of the body. Body contouring is a constantly evolving field rich in innovation. Improved understanding of anatomy and aesthetic goals give rise to new patterns of excision and scar placement. Concepts of repositioning tissue and integrating liposuction with excision, as well as fat grafting, provide more power for achieving superior outcomes. This issue covers the latest approaches for reshaping the trunk and extremities safely and effectively. Principles of patient safety, patient selection, assessing outcomes, and avoiding complications are presented. Expert perspectives on specific procedures for brachioplasty, abdominoplasty, lower body lift, upper trunk contouring, and thigh
