An unusual side effect of azathioprine doi: 10.1111/ced.12639 We report hair loss as an unusual side effect of azathioprine treatment in two female patients. Patient 1 was a 32-year-old woman with severe atopic eczema, who was commenced on azathioprine following poor response to other treatments. Her medical history included asthma and allergic rhinitis. Screening investigations, including full blood count and liver and renal function tests, were normal. Thiopurine S-methyltransferase (TPMT) was 89 mU/L range:
