Exploring the frontiers in Liver and Intestine Transplantation in Europe Dear colleagues and friends, On behalf of European Liver and Intestinal Association (ELITA), European Liver Transplant Registry (ELTR), The Liver Intensive Care Group of Europe (LICAGE) and European Society of Organ Transplantation (ESOT), it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 8th ELITA-ELTR meeting, organised in collaboration with LICAGE, to be held from September 18–19, 2014 in Prague, Czech Republic. This meeting will build on the tradition of the very successful and memorable ELITA/ELTR winter meetings. There will be an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ELITA (originally ELTA founded in 1993) as the association within the ESOT community which focuses on specialists in the field of liver and intestine transplantation. We are pleased to inform you that ELITA will continue to be the driving force for maintaining the European Liver Transplant Registry – ELTR which is, up to now, the biggest audited data registry on liver transplantation in Europe. The organisers are planning an exciting Scientific Program, which will bring together reputable speakers- experts in liver and intestinal transplantation as well as specialists from other fields of medicine, intensivists, hepatologists, radiologists and transplant coordinators. In particular, we are planning to organise challenging and interactive sessions, which promise stimulating discussions on the main topic of the symposium “Exploring the Frontiers in Liver and Intestine Transplantation in Europe.” We are aiming to cover the hottest news in different fields of liver and intestine transplantation. Another aim is to actively link young professionals together with well-known experts from all over the world during the interactive sessions. The venue of the Symposium is situated in the heart of Prague where you will have a chance to enjoy the wonderful late summer season. Prague is uniquely located to conveniently host experts from both Western and Eastern parts of Europe. We would like all of you to participate in this wonderful opportunity. We look forward to welcoming you to the 8th ELITA, ELTR and LICAGE meeting in Prague.

Sincerely Ass. Prof. Martin OLIVERIUS M.D., Ph.D., FEBS ELITA board member, ELITA/ELTR meeting chair
