Dispensary.

Hindoo

Radhia, girl, aged fourteen years, was brought to the Charitable Dispensary at Arrah on the 17th June, 1867, by her mother-iu-law, who gave the following history of her a

case

:?

Four nights ago, while the patient was asleep, she suddenly made great noise, as if frightened by a fearful cried dream. After a while she became quiet, and fell asleep again. .Next morning she appeared dull and stupid, and when ordered to perform her daily household business, she kept quiet, and did not attend to what her relatives said. Nearly four hours alter this, she began to sing and talk nonsense, and has continued to do so ever since. She has taken 110 food since the commencement of her illness, and does not sleep at all, but continues to talk and sing day and night. Her mother-in-law cannot assign any cause for her present mental derangement. Noue of her nearest relatives have ever been subject to the disease. She had not exposed herself to the sun, or to any other exciting causes. She has had no quarrel with her husband, or any other member of the family. Nearly three months ago she menstruated for the first time, and since then her monthly courses have been regular.
